SEE is an experimental 360° short film shot on an Insta360 ONE X camera.

The piece was created for an interactive productions unit as part of my MA and was inspired by the speeches given by the character "The G-Man" from the Half-Life game series by Valve.

I wanted to create a piece which gives the viewer a sense of helplessness, unable to move or communicate while a mysterious, and perhaps even malevolent presence monologues to them.

The film's main character, the viewer, suffers from an unnamed disorder that causes them to constantly hallucinate different worlds of infinite variety. These worlds change constantly, perhaps even every time you blink, and with each new world comes a conclusive set of memories - as if it had always been.

The "Overseer", the only other character of the piece, tries to persuade the viewer's character to work for his 'organisation' to make good use of the unique disorder, though what he seeks to gain from it is not divulged.

The viewer is left with one final, lingering question once the film ends. Now that you've taken off the headset, are you really seeing reality, or just another new world?
